I have two kids ages 6 and 2. They LOVE gummies. Every kid does. The problem is store-bought versions are full or artificial flavors, colors, and loaded with sugar. In some cases even high fructose corn syrup. You definitely don’t want that in your kid’s diet!

The good news is you can easily make your own gummies at home!

For this How To Make Your Own Chewable Gummy Multivitamins I used plain grass-fed gelatin. The health benefits of collagen are amazing, and you and your family can benefits from them by eating these adorable teddy bears. Collagen helps regulate our metabolisms, has anti-inflammatory properties, strengthens hair and nails, and regulates hormones. Gelatin is also known to improve digestion.

The main ingredients for this How To Make Your Own Chewable Gummy Multivitamins recipe are fruits and veggies. Real, nutritious, and full of vitamins fresh produce. Just remember that most store-bought multivitamins are made synthetically. Your body absorbs nutrients way better if they come from natural sources.

Your base is your juice or smoothie blend. I like to make my gummies using coconut water and then my favorite fruits and veggies. Try different flavors and combinations for different colors.  I use 2 cups of liquid and 1 1/2 cups of fruits/veggies.

You can add a little raw honey or maple syrup if your juice or smoothie blend is not too sweet. It is totally up to you and the flavor combination you are using. When I blend veggies I always like to add a teaspoon or two.

For red gummies try strawberries, beets, and/or raspberries. For orange gummies, try citrus fruits like mandarines or oranges. You can make your own Vitamin C gummies too! Use your imagination and favorite fruits and veggies and make your gummy vitamins different each time!

You can add more nutritions with supplements and really make these gummies your super multivitamins. Here are some of my favorite supplements and superfoods:

Coconut oil:  Add 1 teaspoon. Coconut oil is an excellent source of good fat. Kids can benefit from coconut oil’s antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Probiotics: Add the recommended daily dosage. Probihelp with digestion, nutrient absorption, and form the front line of our immune defense.

Chia seeds: Add 1 tablespoon. For a boost of fiber, omega’s 3 and 6. Chia seeds are also an excellent source of easily digestible plant based protein.

Acai Powder:Add the recommended daily dosage. Acai powder can supply your kids of essential amino acids, high dietary fiber, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids that are good for brain and eyesight development.

I promise this is a very easy recipe and you will be so happy with the results. I recently bought this gummy bear mold and I am in love. The gummies are the perfect size for my kids and it is so easy to clean and use.

Recipe type: Snack or Supplement
Serves: 1 mold
Ingredients
  • ¾ cup juice (your favorite juice/smoothie flavors)
  • 2 tablespoons plain grass-fed gelatin
Instructions
  1. Pour juice into a small-medium saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin over the top and let sit for just a few minutes until it starts to “bloom”. Iit will get wrinkly looking on the surface and all of the white powder from the gelatin will absorb into the liquid. Mix well.
  2. Then place the saucepan over medium heat on the stove. Let the liquid warm, but don’t let it boil. You want all of the gelatin to dissolve and turn thin and runny. I will be grainy at the beginning, but after a couple of minutes in the heat it should dissolve completely. Make sure you stir it well.
  3. Put the liquid in a little cup or jar, (I use my measuring cup), and then into your molds.
  4. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
  5. Remove from molds. They pop right out!
  6. Store in a mason jar or closed container in the refrigerator. They last for about 2 weeks.
