Meet The Artist That Transforms Stretch Marks Into Works Of Art

I saw an article the other day about this amazing artist, and just had to share it with all of you.

Stretch marks. Who doesn’t have some? I am always thinking of natural ways to get rid of them. But after seeing these photos, it made me realize that something we women hate can actually be awesome.

Cinta Tort Cartró lives in Barcelona.  This artist is trying to change the way women feel about their flaws. “Flaws” according to society. What we women are taught to hate since we are little like: wrinkles, freckles, spots, and stretch marks.

But this artist is teaching us a wonderful lesson with her work. Zinteta is an illustrator, an artist and a feminist. She believes all bodies are beautiful and worth celebrating.

“Stretch marks. Look at them, read them, discover them, love them.”

There are many types of bodies and stretch marks. Some women have thicker or thinner stretch marks, and some are more pronounced than others. Cinta just saw them as an opportunity to transform them into works of art.  And the results were stunning.

“We are all different and each body has its own energy and essence. We all have a past, a history, and we much accept it. Stretch marks are part of our bodies, our lives, our stories.”

Cinta is making us realize that we are all unique, and we must accept and love our bodies the way they are.  We should be able to feel free.  We should be able to communicate with our bodies. And I totally agree.

“Love your body more and don’t feel pressured by society. Your body, your home, you decide.”

I am a mother of two wonderful kids and my body is not the same anymore. I have belly fat that I can’t get rid of. I have some wrinkles. I have stretch marks. They all made me the person I am now. They made me a mother. They are reminders of the times I was pregnant. The stories about my life. And I should be proud of them everyday.
