Let me start by saying I was not a big fan or ground turkey. Not until I tried this recipe. The reason? Ground turkey always comes out dry in many of the recipes I have tried in the past, including burgers. But not anymore. With a great tip from a good friend, these turkey burgers came out extra moist and tasting delicious.

My kids love burgers, and this recipe was a total success.

Let me now tell you what is the secret ingredient. It is really one simple, fresh, healthy and delicious ingredient. CARROTS! Yes, just a couple of small grated carrots added to the ground turkey. Some salt and pepper, and you are so ready.

The real secret is to shred the carrots yourself. I used a simple and very useful grater, and in a few minutes, you have The Secret Ingredient For Super Moist Baked Turkey Burgers.

If you have picky eaters at home who do not like carrots, you can tell them the shredded carrots are shredded cheese. Really, they will fall for it. The reason why I know is my 6 year old son asked me: Mom, is this cheese inside the burger? Ha,ha. Pretty clever…..I think.

A delicious recipe for making super moist baked turkey burgers.
Recipe type: Dinner
Serves: 6
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 small/medium carrots (shredded)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a big bowl, mix the ground turkey with the shredded carrots and add some salt and pepper. You can also add other spices like oregano, garlic, or onion powder. It is really up to you and your personal taste.
  3. Make little round burgers with your hands and place them on a baking sheet on top of parchment paper. You should add a little bit of olive oil to the parchment paper before (about 1 teaspoon).
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, turning the burgers once at about 10 minutes.
